Also available for use with S10, FM12 or equivalent respirators and Peltor Comtac headsets is a microphone/earpiece interface.

This provides a Nexus plug that interfaces directly to the Peltor's receive audio socket and a small microphone that connects to the primary speech module on the front of the respirator to allow clear transmit and receive audio whilst wearing the respirator.

  

When in stand-down a simple ear-hanger can be worn, the HIU automatically routes the transmitted audio from the integrated noise-cancelling microphone and does away with the need for a boom microphone.
