Billy Baxter sets a new world record!

Well done Billy Baxter!!!

What an event! Billy Baxter set a record of 7Mins 49 by being the first to lap Donington as a blind man!

Billy took centre stage Sunday 23rd of September at 11:15 - just before the penultimate round of the Bennetts British Superbikes 2007 Championship got underway. Onlookers stood along the pits and around the track in total amazement.

The event started with an initial panic as Billy’s communications kit had been misplaced but after a couple of minutes the missing item wasn’t missing at all! A few deep breathes revealed he was wearing it all along!!!!

That said, from that moment onwards the event went without a hitch and Billy was welcomed at the finish line with a roar and a cheer!

Billy said “When I was riding around the track I was no longer a blind man; I could see using Tom’s and Steve’s eyes, I couldn’t have done this challenge without the help and support of all involved!”

Sonic are proud to have played a big part in this event and we wish Billy all the best for the future. We hope to take part in his next adventure as he wishes to break 200mph on a motorcycle!!
