CHARLEY BOORMAN – Alone with his sights on achieving the Impossible Charley Boorman actor, father and motorcycle fanatic is now preparing himself for a fresh challenge following his earlier success of the ‘Long Way Round’ when together with his best friend Ewan McGregor they circumnavigated their way around the world crossing three continents and fifteen countries in three months using motorcycles as their preferred mode of transport. The ‘Race to Dakar’ beginning on 1st January 2006 in Lisbon Portugal will see Charley attempting arguably one of the world’s toughest off road races. It is anticipated that the race will last approximately fifteen days during which time he will have travel through Portugal, Morroco, Mauritania, Mali,Guinea and Senegal to finish in Dakar. |
This race will test both man and machine to the limit and Sonic Communications (Int) Ltd will be there at the forefront of the race providing the means to record every aspect of the event from the early planning stages to his motorcycle preparation to the start line in Lisbon in January 06.
