Famous actors Ewan McGregor of 'Trainspotting' and 'Star Wars' to name but a few and Charley Boorman famous for appearing in Deliverance, The Emerald Forest and The Serpents Kiss will embark mid April 2004 on the ultimate motorcycle ride 'The Long Way Round' taking them on two BMW RS1150 GS Adventure 1150 cc motorcycles through such countries as London to Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Siberia, China, Alaska, Canada and in three months time ending in New York, USA. The journey should take about 3 months whilst also visiting places of interest along the journey. |
Sonic Communications will supply Ewan and Charley with Bike to Bike Communications, GSM telephones mounted within the top box, helmet and motorcycle mounted cameras with recorder and monitor to help provide a record of this truly remarkable journey through a continual series of obstacles such as impassable roads, riding through 'bandit country' miles away from civilisation, the threat of local muggers and robbers or even broken bones and a long list of other challenges only limited by your own imagination.
