Digital Barriers - Law Enforcement Partners

Sonic Communications is proud to announce its new law enforcement partnership with Digital Barriers for the delivery of live surveillance solutions to law enforcement organisations. This further enhances our joint ability to scale up the adoption of EdgeVis to address the growing market need for reliable and secure video connectivity over cellular from vehicles and all manner of customised covert surveillance devices.

The partnership has been formalised in recognition of our respective complementary capabilities in software and in the design and installation of custom-built solutions. Furthermore, it builds on Digital Barriers and Sonic Communications’ shared heritage as trusted global suppliers to the police, military and government.

Sonic Communications has been operating for almost 50 years, during which time we have become a market leader in the design, build and supply of specialist audio and video surveillance solutions. Our in-house team is renowned for its expertise in bespoke vehicle installations for the emergency services and for its ingenuity in developing covert devices to blend in, whatever the surroundings.

Digital Barriers has delivered reliable and affordable live video and analytics over cellular to federal and local law enforcement agencies for over a decade. Applications have included keeping troops safe in the Middle East, deploying across NATO and securing presidential inaugurations, Olympic Games and royal events. It reduces bandwidth requirements by up to 90% without sacrificing quality, ensuring situational awareness can be relied upon in the very moments it is needed the most.

Kevin McDonald, Group Managing Director, Sonic Communications:

“Our extensive design capabilities and pedigree in law enforcement make us the perfect partner for any police force wanting to leverage EdgeVis for live video over cellular applications. We are particularly excited by the multi-stream options that will allow customers to cut costs by increasing the number of video feeds per data SIM.”

Zak Doffman, CEO, Digital Barriers:

“We’re delighted to officially onboard Sonic Communications following many years of proven collaboration. I’ve no doubt that together we can simplify deployment, improve reliability and lower the costs of remote surveillance operations for the law enforcement community.”
