Genesis-4 Headset Users – New Custom Earmould Wax Filter

If you are an existing user of the Sonic Genesis-4 Low Profile Motorcycling Headsets, we want to keep you up to speed with our future plans and product developments. New for 2027, we are getting ready to release our next-generation high performance noise cancelling microphone technology, latest earmould materials for comfort and performance (EN352) and ensuring that we maintain and communicate our stance over continuous development to our UK designed and manufactured products.

This bulletin, however, is specifically to address the occasional question we receive about wax accumulation in the earmoulds. This is not always obvious as there may not be any visible signs of wax deposits, but under close examination/microscope we are able to see evidence of wax present beyond the earmould and on a few occasions in the driver/speaker itself – trust us! Let’s be honest, wax is an entirely normal fact of life, but we don’t want it affecting our product performance and consequently, your user experience, so we have introduced a user-replaceable wax trap in the earmould itself. We have begun introducing these at the point of manufacture, but we are also supplying these via Clothing Stores/SPOC’s to distribute as a retro-upgrade.

We recommend all users take advantage of this new filter. Have a look at our Genesis Product Page to learn more.

Important Note: We are working on a new design (Genesis-6 ‘G6’ ) that will see all new Genesis headsets from Jan 2027 will incorporate a larger user replaceable filter in the headset itself rather than the ear mould, which will be easier to access/replace. Existing headset users will still need to continue with the earmould filters as per the QR code. All G4/G5 earmoulds will remain backwards compatible with Genesis-6
